Clean Desk Challenge is a free browser-based cybersecurity game. Close of day in a real office. Walk around, put the risky things away, and leave the coffee cup alone. Mugs, plants, public flyers and blank paper are not risks — putting them away costs points.
Difficulty: Beginner. Estimated play time: 19 minutes.
Three offices at Cedarline Group, played first-person: End of the Day, the Finance Department where Public / Internal / Confidential / Restricted labels start to matter, and the Shared Office with its printer tray, whiteboard and other people’s desks. A guided walkthrough comes first.
One objective at a time, in walking order, each naming a place to go and a key to press — and each closing with the lesson it existed to teach. Why a shredder rather than the bin. Why a badge belongs in a drawer. Why the printer tray is the easiest thing in the building to read.
Harmless objects are mixed in deliberately. Of the fifteen things left out in End of the Day, seven are not risks at all, and putting a mug or a public flyer away costs points. The lesson is classification and context, not suspicion.
Grades run S to D on the office risk you leave behind, your mistakes and how much of the required work you covered; stars also weigh hints used and time left. Three help levels change the clock, how soon a hint appears and how clearly the labels read.
It runs in the browser on a keyboard and mouse or on a touchscreen, in all nine platform languages — English, Română, Français, Deutsch, Nederlands, Italiano, Español, Polski and Українська — with the customer’s name on the badges, posters, screens and documents.
